Off site painting idea

These fun plates were created at the Church of the Resurrection during an art camp.  The painters ranged in age from 6 to 12.  Ceramic Cafe can come to your location for a painting activity. We have great ideas for your church group or Sunday School and special group pricing too. Painting pottery is fun for any age, so don’t assume it is just for  kids!

Pre-school STORY TIME

Do you have a pre-schooler that just LOVES TO PAINT? Ceramic Cafe offers a fun story and paint time every Tuesday and Friday. We read a book, then the kids get to paint a ceramic item that goes along with the story and finish with a snack. What a deal and a fun way to share a creative activity with a little one. We will be making bunnies out of handprints this week in honor of the Easter holiday. We always read “Love You Forever”, the classic by Robert Munsch just before Mother’s Day and let the kids paint a small heart shaped dish for Mom.. $9.50 a child, ($9 for each additional kid in the family). We start at 11 on Tuesdays, 10:30 on Fridays. No reservations needed unless you want to come with a bunch of moms and their kiddos.

So many fun activities…..

Check out our “Special Events” page.  It is filled with information about our SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM,  the annual EASTER EGG PAINTING FESTIVAL on March 24th and 25th and a new event———-

“DADS AND DONUTS”. On Saturday April 14th we will open early, serve donuts and help all you dads create the perfect Mother’s Day gift with your kiddos.  We will also free lettering on your projects, so you don’t have to worry about  anything.  Just call and let us know you plan to attend – we wouldn’t want to run out of donuts!..  8:30 to 11 on Saturday April 14th.  MARK YOUR CALENDAR

Basketball BORDER WAR between MU and KU

BORDER WAR

Time for another BORDER WAR game between KU and MU.  This is the last time around, so come show your school spirit.  These are fun to hang in a window or in your car. Maybe use one as a paper weight or glue on a heavy duty magnet so you can use it on your refrigerator.

More Fused Glass Creations

Caroline with her owl

Look how please Caroline is with her owl.  She did a GREAT  job!  She came with some of her family and they all had fun creating with glass.  Several of them made night lights out of glass.  Does painting pottery sometimes intimidate you or seem a little overwhelming.  Well then, glass fusing is the perfect creative alternative for you.  Finished pieces are bright and colorful.  We show you simple technique to make the process very easy. Even though we are working with glass,  I promise we only use about 1 band-aid a month for very minor little cuts.  Ages 10 and up can do glass independently, younger ages require an adult helper.  Mention you read this blog and we will give you  free slumping (shaping the glass  into a plate or bowl) on one piece.  Can not be used with any  other discounts

Young Kids Can Make Great Art!

Look how great these tiles painted by 3 year olds look.  The hearts on the top tile are pretty advanced for a 3 year old, but with our new Cricut machine we can turn even a “smeared paint” creation into something with a fun design.  We cut the large letters out of contact paper on the Cricut machine and put them on the tile before a child starts to paint. Peel it up when they are done painting and it is personalized with their initial!

Not a kid, but want some nice lettering on your mug or platter?  We can cut words out with the Cricut machine in any size you need. It takes just a little extra time, but the results are definitely worth it.  Ask about the Cricut the next time you paint at Ceramic Cafe.

Platters with handprints

It’s the time of year when Ceramic Cafe goes through package after package of baby wipes. They work perfectly for cleaning paint off hands and feet.  We are VERY experienced at helping with handprints and footprints!  So have no fear, we can help you create the perfect platter with  your child(ren)’s handprint.   We have many ideas and designs that can incorporate just one or many kid’s prints.. A platter with all of the grandchildrens’  hands is truly a keepsake gift for grandparents.  The design does not have to have a holiday them either…make something perfect for year round gatherings. Paint platters early for the best selection.
