Kids love creating with clay. We are starting monthly classes for kids ages 1st grade and up. Projects will include instruction in different handbuilding techniques and will allow for individual creativity.

Creative Halloween Fun
Decorating for Halloween is so much fun. Halloween colors are bright and creative. It is the perfect holiday to let your imagination “Haunt” you. You can come make this fun Fused Glass plate at our October glass class on Thursday October 17th. Or bring the kids in and make “spooky” designs with their little hands and feet . A black handprint can be a cat, a spider or a witch. Little footprints make “spooktacular ghosts” and bats. We have lots of great ideas for making keepsake Halloween decorations.
Meet Pete the Penguin
Meet PETE THE PENGUIN. Pete the Penguin has not adapted to our summer heat. He wants to “Stay Cool and Be Cool” this summer. His search for the perfect location will take him around town. We will post a picture of his adventure for the …week on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/#!/ceramiccafekc every Sunday at 1pm. The first person who comments on Facebook with the correct location will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Ceramic Cafe Gift Card at the end of summer. (Winner will be drawn and notified Tuesday, September 3rd, 2013.) Each weekly winner will also get to paint a penguin!

Off site painting idea
These fun plates were created at the Church of the Resurrection during an art camp. The painters ranged in age from 6 to 12. Ceramic Cafe can come to your location for a painting activity. We have great ideas for your church group or Sunday School and special group pricing too. Painting pottery is fun for any age, so don’t assume it is just for kids!
Pre-school STORY TIME
Do you have a pre-schooler that just LOVES TO PAINT? Ceramic Cafe offers a fun story and paint time every Tuesday and Friday. We read a book, then the kids get to paint a ceramic item that goes along with the story and finish with a snack. What a deal and a fun way to share a creative activity with a little one. We will be making bunnies out of handprints this week in honor of the Easter holiday. We always read “Love You Forever”, the classic by Robert Munsch just before Mother’s Day and let the kids paint a small heart shaped dish for Mom.. $9.50 a child, ($9 for each additional kid in the family). We start at 11 on Tuesdays, 10:30 on Fridays. No reservations needed unless you want to come with a bunch of moms and their kiddos.
